The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development’s “13th Five-Year Plan for Prefabricated Building Action” set a goal that by 2020, over 200 prefabricated building industry bases would be established nationwide. So, how many prefabricated building industry bases (parks) have been built or are currently planned across China?
Tianjin Baodi Residential Assembly Building Industrial Park
At the end of 2016, construction began on the Beijing Zhuzong National Prefabricated Building Industrial Park, located in Tingkou Town Industrial Park, Baodi District. The first phase covers 600 acres with a total investment of 900 million yuan. Large-scale production was expected to begin in the third quarter of that year.
The park is primarily funded and developed by Zhuzong Science and Trade Company. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate an annual tax revenue of 36 million yuan and create 800 jobs. Plans for a second phase envision expanding to approximately 4,000 acres, aiming to establish an industrial ecosystem characterized by a “billion-yuan park” and employment for 10,000 people, setting a benchmark as an intelligent ecological industrial demonstration park.
Hebei Wangdu County Prefabricated Building Industrial Park
The Xinzheng Zhongyuan Prefabricated Building Industrial Park is the city’s first large-scale construction industrial park project. Located in the western part of Xindian Town, the park focuses on prefabricated building components such as precast concrete (PC) and steel structures, with a planned total area of 5.3 square kilometers.
Planning and development began at the end of 2015, with site selection completed by early 2016. The preliminary development plan and spatial planning are finished and pending expert review. Several companies, including Zhengzhou Urban Construction Group, Municipal First Construction, Provincial Fifth Construction, Provincial First Construction, and Jiaxiao Steel Structure, have already signed settlement agreements.
Shanxi Construction Industry Modernization Park
Shanxi’s construction industry modernization is regionally segmented into five parks: Taiyuan Park, Jindongnan Park, Yuncheng Park, Lvliang Park, and Shuozhou Park, covering a radius of 150 kilometers across Shanxi province.
Taiyuan Industrial Park spans 1,900 acres, with a total investment of 5.73 billion yuan. It includes the Xiaohe Industrial Park, the Science and Technology Innovation City R&D Base, and the Economic Development Zone Park. The Xiaohe Industrial Park covers 353 acres and has an investment of 1.06 billion yuan. Upon completion, it is expected to generate an annual output value of 1.8 billion yuan and annual revenue of 1.54 billion yuan.
Jiangsu Yancheng Zhongying International Prefabricated Building Technology Industrial Park
The Zhongying International Prefabricated Building Technology Industrial Park, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan, has officially settled in the Xinyang Economic Zone, Tinghu District, Yancheng City. Development is planned in three phases.
The first phase is projected to produce an annual output value of 3.966 billion yuan and generate 336 million yuan in tax revenue. Upon full completion, the park expects an annual output value between 8 to 10 billion yuan and annual tax revenue ranging from 500 million to 1 billion yuan.
With 3 to 5 years of cultivation and support, and the introduction of German-related supporting enterprises, the park aims to become a benchmark international standard prefabricated building industrial base in East China and nationwide. It is expected to create employment for 4,000 to 5,000 local workers.
Shandong Zibo Prefabricated Building Industrial Park
On August 8th, the prefabricated construction industry base project, a joint venture between Shandong Fangda Engineering Co., Ltd. of Zikuang Group and Hangxiao Steel Structure Co., Ltd., officially settled in Zikuang Industrial Park.
The project involves a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan and occupies 500 acres. It will be developed in phases: the first phase includes an 800 million yuan investment to meet the demand for 2 million square meters of prefabricated buildings, adhering to provincial-level construction standards. The second phase plans to expand by 200 acres, invest 700 million yuan, and establish a national-level prefabricated building production base.
Upon completion, the project is expected to yield an annual output value of 3 billion yuan, generate 150 million yuan in profits, create 500 new jobs, and stimulate related industries such as steel, machining, and logistics.
Shandong Jining Zhuoda Modular Building Industrial Park
On June 29th, a cooperation signing ceremony took place between the Jining Municipal Government, Yanzhou District Government, and Hebei Zhuoda Group at Shengde International Hotel in Yanzhou District.
According to the agreement, the partners will collaborate on industries including the “Zhuoda New Material Prefabricated Building Industrial Park,” “National Residential Industrialization Base Construction,” green prefabricated buildings, urban comprehensive development and operation, and the health sector.
The Zhuoda Green Modular Building (New Materials) Industrial Park project has a total investment of 15 billion yuan, covering 1,500 acres. It plans a total production capacity of 50 million square meters of buildings, an output value of 125 billion yuan, and a comprehensive tax capacity of 10 billion yuan. The first phase will have a production capacity of 1 million square meters.
Shandong Dezhou Dejian Prefabricated Building Industrial Park
Dejian Group recently announced an investment of 680 million yuan to build a steel structure and concrete prefabricated construction industrial park. This facility will produce 120,000 cubic meters of concrete components and nearly 100,000 tons of steel structural building components annually.
The project is expected to generate 800 million yuan in annual sales revenue and create nearly 500 jobs. The industrial park is divided into two areas for steel and concrete structures, covering 350 acres. The project has passed expert evaluation and has entered the construction phase.
Shandong Rizhao Guofeng Yuanda Prefabricated Building Industrial Park
This project marks Rizhao City’s first prefabricated building industry initiative and the start of the Rizhao Prefabricated Building Industrial Park.
The Guofeng Yuanda Prefabricated Building Industry Base is a joint venture between Rizhao Land Reserve and Development Group, Rizhao Xing Prefabricated R&D Industry Group, Haoyu Group, Caijin Group, and Changsha Yuanda Residential Industry Group. It focuses on producing and selling prefabricated concrete, concrete components, and other prefabricated building products, as well as the research, development, and marketing of residential industrialization technologies and related products.
Jilin Changchun Yatai Construction Industrial Products Industrial Park
The Yatai Group’s Changchun Construction Industrialization Products Industrial Park is located in the Changchun International Logistics Economic Development Zone, Erdao District.
The project covers 274,600 square meters with a planned construction area of 195,700 square meters and a total investment of 1.35 billion yuan. Upon completion, the annual operating income is expected to reach 1.028 billion yuan, with profits and taxes totaling 97 million yuan.
The first phase began construction on July 27, 2016. Supported strongly by Erdao District government and Yatai Group, the project has advanced rapidly. The office and factory buildings are complete, equipment has been installed and tested, and material production with operational capacity has commenced.
