As a pioneer in the industrialization of residential construction in China, Vanke has been dedicated to continuous exploration and innovation since establishing the Vanke Architecture Research Center in 1999. By 2007, with the founding of the Vanke Residential Industrialization Research Base, the technology for residential industrialization matured, leading to the launch of the first batch of industrialized residential building projects. Among these, the Beijing Wanheng Jiayuan Project stands out as a pilot for the prefabricated shear wall system and is one of China’s earliest residential industrialization initiatives. This project holds great importance in advancing the development of industrialized residential construction.
Project Overview
The B3 and B4 floors of the Beijing Wanheng Jiayuan project utilize a shear wall structural system. Interior walls are cast-in-place, while exterior walls are prefabricated. The connection joints between interior and exterior walls are poured after connecting prefabricated components. The project includes cast-in-place interior walls, mountain walls, and exterior walls around elevator shafts and stairwells.
Each floor is outfitted with 12 precast concrete wall panels: 4 on the north façade and 8 on the south façade, with the heaviest panel weighing up to 4 tons. Additionally, balcony panels, air conditioning panels, and staircases are constructed using prefabricated components. Decorative tiles on the exterior walls are applied during the prefabrication process.
