POHL cz, a.s., a family-owned company, ranks among the leading construction firms in the Czech Republic. Their new headquarters seamlessly merges practical administrative functions with a strong corporate identity, establishing a prominent flagship for the company. The architectural style reflects not only the surrounding suburban industrial landscape but also honors the company’s heritage and its role within the construction industry.
The ground floor is left open, enhancing permeability throughout the site. The two upper levels house spacious, modular office areas. Floor planning is made flexible by the use of strip windows, concrete frames, and a modular partition system. The top floor is set back and features a continuous terrace designed exclusively for management. A spiral staircase links all floors, providing a central circulation core.
The design intentionally integrates industrial elements inspired by the construction sector, particularly those related to underground infrastructure. The exterior is clad in corrugated, weather-resistant steel panels that evoke sheet piles and collector arms. Both the circular core and outer wall cladding are designed to reflect technological equipment, while internal mechanical systems are exposed, highlighting the building’s industrial character.
Within the confined technical spaces, equipment is arranged with submarine-like precision. The design carefully balances functionality with a comfortable working environment. Climbing and hanging plants adorn guardrails, terraces, and rooftops, creating a striking contrast with the rusted steel exterior and blending industrial surroundings with natural greenery.
