How to Use Adobe Audition (AU) to Denoise Videos
When recording videos, background noise can often affect the audio quality due to environmental factors or equipment limitations. So, how can you use Adobe Audition to reduce noise in your video audio? Follow the steps below for a clear explanation.
1. After installing Adobe Audition, open the noisy audio file by clicking on File, as shown in the image.
2. Once the audio is loaded, go to the Editor panel. Select a segment that contains noise but excludes vocals. Use Ctrl + mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the waveform for precise selection, as demonstrated in the image.
3. Click on Effect, then navigate to Noise Reduction / Restoration, and select Noise Reduction (process) (shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + P), as illustrated.
4. In the pop-up Effect – Noise Reduction dialog box, click Capture Noise Print to sample the noise. Then click Save Current Noise Print to store this noise profile, as shown in the picture.
5. Close the Effect – Noise Reduction dialog box. Press Ctrl + A to select the entire audio track. Reopen the Effect – Noise Reduction dialog (shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + P). Click Load Noise Print from Disk to import the saved noise profile. Adjust the Noise Reduction and Reduce by settings as needed. Use the play button below to preview the effect. Once satisfied, click Apply. Finally, export the cleaned audio as a new file.
