Why Can’t Revit Split Conduit Elements? Using the Split Elements command to split conduit models (or similar models like pipes, ducts, bridges, etc.) often has no effect. So, why is it that the conduit cannot be split?
To split pipelines correctly, you must first set joints to separate the pipeline on both sides of the desired split point. Without these joints, the pipeline cannot be divided into two sections. Therefore, when splitting pipes or ducts, you need to select the joints within the piping system configuration before applying the Split Elements command.
When using the Split Elements command, make sure to check the option bar for Delete internal line segments. This option allows you to remove conduit segments between the selected points.
The following elements can be split using this command: walls, lines, beams, and supports.
