How Navisworks Measures the Centerline Distance of a Pipeline
When using Navisworks’ measurement tools, you might notice that selecting the centerline of a pipeline can be challenging. Here’s how you can address this issue:
1. Go to the Review tab and select the Measurement tools. Choose the Point to Point measurement method.
2. When hovering over the pipeline, only the surface is initially selectable. To access the centerline, press the ‘+’ or ‘-’ keys to zoom in or out on the area under the mouse cursor. Hold the undo key while zooming to enhance the view. This will allow you to pick the pipeline’s centerline accurately.
Note: Changing the viewpoint in this way will cause annotations to disappear and they will only be visible from the current viewpoint.
