Addressing Missing Parts and Parameters When Converting Revit Files to Navisworks
Autodesk Navisworks enables all project stakeholders to effectively integrate, share, and review detailed 3D design models, serving as a key component in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow. Typically, Revit is used for modeling, and the relevant files are exported for further processing in Navisworks. However, after exporting and opening these files in Navisworks, you might encounter issues such as missing segmented parts or invisible added parameters. How can we resolve this?
Follow these steps:
1. Click the “Export” command for NWC files, which exports files compatible with Navisworks, as shown in the image below.
2. In the pop-up dialog “Export Scene As…”, click the “Navisworks Settings…” button located at the bottom left. This opens the Navisworks Options Editor – Revit dialog, where you should configure the settings as illustrated.
(1) To ensure parts from Revit are displayed, check the option “Transform structural components”.
(2) To display element properties from Revit, navigate to “Convert element parameters” and select “Select All” from the options.
Explanation: If components or properties are missing during the import of Revit models into Navisworks, applying these settings will resolve the issue.
