How to Use Revit to Create the Substructure of a Wooden Arch Bridge (Three-Section Seedlings)
Today, we will demonstrate how to model the lower structure of a corridor bridge with three-section seedlings using Revit software.
1. Component Creation
Start by launching Revit and creating a new structural template. Since the blueprint is oriented north-south, set the elevation view to the north facade.
Next, determine the elevation positions for each component.
Draw each component on its respective structural plane at the correct elevation. When modeling the three-section Miao Niu Tou, you can modify existing beam families with similar parameters. For example, I chose the original wooden beam family and adjusted it accordingly to fit the three-section Miao Niu Tou design.
The three-section seedlings are wooden cylinders, so I adapted the original circular beam family by modifying its parameters.
2. Connecting Components
Open the structural plane at the appropriate component elevation. After completing the necessary family modifications, begin connecting the components. First, establish the axes, then connect the components along these axes. (Note: The axis lines I drew are somewhat messy, so please use your own layout!)
3. Adjusting Connections Between Components
Once the components are placed on the structural planes, you may notice that elements at different elevations do not connect properly. To fix this, adjust the parameters of the individual components.
From the facade view, it’s clear that components at different heights are not aligned without adjustments. Select each component and modify its properties by adjusting the start and end elevation offsets to ensure proper connection between components at varying heights.
With these steps, the three-section seedlings for the lower structure of the corridor bridge are complete!
Following this method, you can also produce models for five-section seedlings.
