Revit Elevation Point Coordinates Not Recognizing Wall Elevation
When drawing walls in Revit and using elevation point coordinates within the plan, an issue arises during annotation. The coordinates in the East (E) and West (W) directions display correctly; however, the values behind the elevation (EL) fail to appear properly.
Initially, I suspected this problem might be related to the height of the cutting plane within the view range. To verify, I adjusted the current cross-section height to be above the top of the wall, but the issue persisted.
At this point, I was puzzled because elevation point coordinates belong to a system family and cannot be edited. After several tests, I had a sudden realization: the original annotation was placed on the wall’s centerline. Within the system family, this centerline corresponds to a vertical work plane that lacks an elevation value, which explains the problem.
Solution: When annotating, ensure that the elevation point is not placed on the wall’s centerline. Refer to the figure below for guidance:
