How to Quickly Identify Pipeline Systems in Revit
Before modeling, it’s important to quickly determine the pipeline system. Here are three methods using air ducts as an example.
Method 1: Identify the system by searching the equipment table using the fan’s equipment number.
This confirms that the duct belongs to the exhaust and smoke exhaust system.
Method 2: Determine the air duct system based on the air duct’s connection to the air shaft, as shown below. Since the air duct leads out of the supplementary air shaft, it is part of the supplementary air system.
Method 3: Use the query command in Revit to import and select the drawing. Click on the query tool, then select the duct. As illustrated in the figure, the layer indicates it is a smoke exhaust duct, so this duct belongs to the smoke exhaust system.
Note: Method 3 only applies to standardized CAD drawings.
