How Revit Enhances Connection Efficiency Between Pipelines and Equipment
When drawing pipelines, connecting bathroom fixtures, mechanical equipment, and other devices to the piping system is often required. Relying solely on basic pipeline drawing commands to manually draw each pipeline can be time-consuming and inefficient. It usually involves switching between multiple views, which further slows down the drafting process.
Besides progressively drawing pipelines using the pipeline tools, you can significantly improve connection efficiency by using the “Connect to” modify command.
The “Connect to” command allows you to quickly link selected bathroom fixtures, mechanical equipment, and other elements to the chosen pipeline with just one click.
Let’s walk through how to use this command effectively:
- Select the device, then go to the Modify tab and click the “Connect to” command;
- If the selected device has multiple connectors, a dialog box will appear (as shown below). Each connector corresponds to a different piping system, allowing you to connect to the appropriate pipeline;
- Choose the correct connector, then click on the pipeline you want to connect. Revit will automatically generate the necessary pipelines and fittings to link the device, as illustrated below:
By leveraging these tools flexibly, you can greatly improve your workflow efficiency. Wishing everyone continuous progress!
