How to Choose Background Effects in Navisworks In Autodesk Navisworks, you can select the background effect by entering the Scene View. Currently, the following options are available:
Monochrome: The scene background is filled with a single selected color. This is the default background style and works well for both 3D models and 2D drawings.
Gradient: The background features a smooth gradient transition between two chosen colors. This effect is suitable for 3D models and 2D drawings alike.
Horizon: In 3D scenes, the background is divided at the ground plane, creating a sky and ground effect. This simulated horizon helps indicate your orientation within the 3D environment. By default, the horizon aligns with the world vector set under File Options > Direction. Note that this background is not supported in 2D drawings or orthographic views.
Note: The simulated horizon is purely a visual background effect and does not represent an actual ground plane. For example, when navigating below ground and looking upward, you won’t see behind the ground plane; instead, you’ll view the model against the sky-colored background from below.
