How to Create a Curved Wall with a Sloping Top in Revit
In practical engineering, it is common to encounter curved walls with non-horizontal tops, such as the sloping curved wall shown in the image below.
Because Revit only allows the top of curved walls to be flat and does not support contour editing for curved walls, the solution is to use a built-in model to create a curved wall with a sloping top. The detailed steps are as follows:
1. Select the ribbon option Building or Structure > Components > Built-in Model.
2. In the Family Category and Parameters dialog, choose Window (as shown in the image), then select the Wall category and enter a name for the built-in component.
3. Use the Stretch tool to create the curved wall. Select the ribbon command Create > Stretch.
4. Use the Draw command to sketch the outline of the curved wall plan. Input the start and end points for stretching to generate the curved wall.
5. To create a sloping top on the curved wall, use a hollow shape to cut out the desired slope:
① Create a temporary stretching block and set one of its sides as the work plane.
② On this work plane, draw the outline of the hollow shape (see figure) that will be used to cut the curved wall.
③ Adjust the hollow shape so it fully cuts through the curved wall, then remove the temporary stretching block, as shown in the illustration.
6. Click the ✓ symbol to complete the process and obtain the curved wall with a sloping top, as demonstrated in the figure.
