BIM Application Practice at Liantang Port
At the press conference on the Implementation Outline and BIM Implementation Management Standards for Public Works BIM Applications, hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government on May 4th, the Liantang Port project was showcased as one of three pilot projects selected by the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau for BIM application.
This project is the first and only demonstration initiative led by the Shenzhen Municipal Government to deliver comprehensive BIM results across all disciplines and phases. Liantang Port is the seventh cross-border comprehensive land port planned and constructed in Shenzhen. Its development aims to optimize and adjust the functions of Shenzhen’s inland ports while strengthening connections between Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and eastern Guangdong.
From the conceptual design phase, the project established a BIM platform to refine the building plan. Throughout the construction drawing design phase, the BIM platform facilitated visual design and 3D collaboration, significantly reducing design changes and greatly enhancing design quality. This project’s practice offers valuable insights for setting BIM application standards in architectural design and for fostering collaborative optimization across various platforms.
