The Jundao Zhugong JSC Lightweight Prefabricated Exterior Wall System (“JSC Exterior Wall”) is an integrated exterior wall solution that combines assembly technology, green energy-saving techniques, and personalized design. It features a lightweight prefabricated enclosure system composed of a light steel frame, ultra-high-performance concrete panels on both exterior and interior surfaces, and insulation filling. This system seamlessly integrates multiple functions—such as doors and windows, waterproofing, insulation, and exterior decoration—and includes an efficient anti-pollution, self-cleaning capability.
Using the Shaoxing Seaside Hotel as a case study, we will share the technical innovations and applications involved in this project.

1. Project Overview
The hotel project employs a prefabricated steel structure and involves prefabricated building manufacturers during the design phase to provide technical support. This approach ensures integrated design and construction strategies for prefabricated buildings. Utilizing BIM technology and considering the production characteristics of prefabricated components, the design simplifies the variety of external wall panels and connection nodes—especially regarding the project’s peripheral protection system—while meeting all design requirements. This simplification facilitates construction and significantly reduces project costs.

The floor slabs use cast-in-place reinforced concrete, indoor partition walls are built on-site with aerated bricks, and the exterior walls consist of prefabricated light steel concrete composite panels.

From the design phase, BIM technology fully coordinates the technical team across architecture, structure, plumbing, and electrical disciplines. Secondary development based on the BIM model links prefabricated component material lists with supplier information, facilitating on-site installation and component tracking. A QR code management system enables quick, accurate access to component parameters, reducing errors and boosting installation efficiency.

· Prefabricated Dry Decoration According to Policies and Standards
This innovative decoration approach uses dry construction methods, producing components in the factory and assembling them on-site by professional workers. This ensures high quality, fast installation, and no pollution. The project employs an integrated exterior wall that merges decoration and structure, complemented by integrated bathroom and ceiling technologies indoors. This approach delivers superior quality and appearance compared to traditional methods, with controllable costs.
· One-Piece Prefabricated Exterior Walls and Window Frames
Jundao Zhugong’s system forms exterior walls and window frames as a single unit, completely resolving issues like window leakage. By shifting most wet work to factory production, site disturbance is minimized, benefiting environmental protection. The board materials are eco-friendly, factory-processed, and strictly tested to guarantee quality for both interior and exterior use.

· Jundao Mechanical Anchor Bolt Shear Capacity Calculation Software
Based on exterior wall characteristics and site requirements, Jundao Zhugong independently developed the “Jundao Mechanical Anchor Bolt Resistance Shear Bearing Capacity Calculation Software.” This tool improves drawing efficiency and quality for designers, supports material statistics for budgeting, and provides a calculation basis for transportation safety. By inputting necessary parameters, the software calculates the shear bearing capacity of mechanical anchor bolts and automatically generates calculation sheets, enhancing design accuracy and reliability.

3. Project Innovation Highlights
Currently, construction industrialization mainly uses concrete exterior wall panels in peripheral protection systems paired with frame structures (concrete or steel). However, solid concrete panels are heavy and challenging to use extensively.
In East China, concrete sandwich panels are common, but their weight (over 300kg/m²) increases the main structure’s steel requirements and raises safety concerns for prefabricated structures heavier than curtain walls. Moreover, these panels often suffer from limited exterior decoration options and issues like thermal bridging and condensation.

To address the need for lightweight, high-strength, and customizable designs, Jundao Zhugong developed a high-performance integrated light steel structure exterior wall system. This system perfectly balances structural strength, insulation, soundproofing, fire resistance, and waterproofing, while showcasing the building’s facade aesthetics.

Integrated Light Steel Structure Exterior Wall System
The system includes a 5cm thick plain concrete exterior finish, exterior walls, a light steel frame (with insulation), and interior walls. Designers can choose the external facing based on project requirements. Foam concrete insulation fills the light steel skeleton, while the inner wall features steel mesh and anti-crack cement mortar. The system attaches to the main structure via hanging connections: the lower end bears loads, and the upper end mainly serves as fixation. Connection nodes comprise hangers embedded in wall panels linked to light steel, and supports welded to the main structural panels.

Eight core technologies define this exterior wall system, characterized by:
- Lightweight: The exterior wall weighs only 200 kg/m²—nearly 40% lighter than traditional walls.
- High Strength: Fiber-reinforced high-strength concrete panels exhibit superior flexural strength, enabling them to withstand higher wind and seismic loads safely.
- Customization: Exterior finishes use reverse printing techniques to replicate various common hard finishing materials, allowing for diverse decorative effects.
- Excellent Thermal Insulation: The thermal insulation bolt light steel frame serves as the main structural support, connected via horizontal and vertical steel members around wall panels and window openings. A 1 cm gap between the steel components and outer concrete layer helps transfer loads effectively through insulated bolts meeting anchoring standards.
- Integration: The system fully integrates exterior decoration, structural framework, insulation, interior finishes, windows, and other enclosure elements, achieving complete cohesion.
