Changzhou Wujin News (Reporter: Zhen Xiaodan) — On the morning of May 19th, the Sino-German Sustainable Development and Green Energy-Saving Building Technology Conference was held at Chuangyan Port, located in Changzhou Science and Education City. The event brought together leading officials from both Changzhou City and Wujin District, including Zhu Xiaomin and Chen Hu.
In recent years, worldwide concerns over environmental degradation and energy shortages have become increasingly prominent. Wujin has positioned itself as a leader in driving green development, making notable progress in energy conservation and emission reduction across multiple sectors. The construction industry, traditionally known for high energy consumption, has seen significant advancements in Wujin. The district has implemented advanced international standards for energy-efficient buildings, focusing especially on the German passive house system. In 2011, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development selected Wujin as the only recipient nationwide of the “Green Development Concept.” Wujin was also designated as a green building Industrial Agglomeration Demonstration Zone.
This conference provided an important platform for Sino-German cooperation in sustainable development and innovative energy-saving building technologies. It injected fresh momentum into the development of the Sino-German Passive Ecological City and the “German-Chinese Future Home” demonstration projects.
Chen Hu, Standing Committee Member and Deputy District Chief of Wujin District, highlighted that Wujin has established specialized organizations dedicated to managing, operating, and promoting green and energy-saving building technologies. The district continues to refine both its spatial and industrial planning, support institutional and systemic innovation, and reinforce partnerships at both international and domestic levels. Through close collaboration with the German Energy Agency, Wujin aims to create a world-class green building industrial agglomeration demonstration zone. The “Sino-German Passive Architecture Ecological City” is set to become a global benchmark for collaborative Sino-German projects.
