How to Design an Upstairs Walkthrough in Revit

How to Create an Upstairs Walkthrough in Revit

Wondering how to create a walkthrough that moves from level 1 to level 2 in Revit? Let’s follow these steps to guide you through the process.

First, select the Roaming command to start drawing a roaming path on level 1.

Draw the path forward along the staircase plane, making sure to adjust the path carefully when passing through the stairs. Use the Options Bar to set the Offset value. (Note: The offset value must be set before placing the camera.)

When the path reaches the second floor via the stairs, go to the Options Bar and set From to Elevation 2. At the same time, adjust the Offset value as needed. Alternatively, you can simply modify the Offset value without changing the elevation.

While editing the roaming path, you can use the Options Bar and set Control to Path to fine-tune the route.

Finally, adjust the camera angles at each keyframe to ensure that the direction and position of each viewpoint are appropriate. This will create a smoother upstairs walkthrough experience. Once you’re done, click play to preview the effect.
