Key projects serve as a framework for organizing and implementing national key research and development plans. They focus on major strategic national priorities, addressing current bottlenecks and critical issues affecting national development. Once approved through the established procedures, these key initiatives are transferred to specialized institutions that assume responsibility for managing the specific projects.
The “Green Building and Building Industrialization” key project targets technological advancements in green building and prefabricated construction during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. It emphasizes seven main areas:
- Basic data systems and theoretical methodologies
- Planning and design methods and models
- Building energy conservation and indoor environmental protection
- Green building materials
- Green, high-performance ecological structural systems
- Building industrialization
- Building informatization
Corresponding key tasks have been outlined within these focus areas to guide the research and development efforts.
