Summary of Practical Points for BIM and Prefabricated | Green Construction Demonstration Projects

Green construction on construction sites is a dynamic management process that requires management and supervision of each stage of construction. What management work should be done on the construction site for this?

Green construction should be well promoted and educated, that is, through migrant worker amateur schools, cultural and living area propaganda corridors, project departments, establishing green construction WeChat groups to provide green construction knowledge training to construction personnel, setting up green construction experience areas, etc., to enhance construction personnel’s awareness of green construction.

The construction process evaluation work includes: establishing a project department evaluation team to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of green construction implementation and the “four new” technologies adopted; Collect historical data such as electricity meter reading and water meter reading on a monthly basis, and archive audio-visual materials on education and training, dust control, etc.


01Dust control


Install a wireless pollution source online monitoring system at the construction site to achieve real-time monitoring of the project.

During earthwork excavation, dust spray system shall be set around the road and excavation area. Water for spray shall be used for non-traditional water sources such as foundation pit precipitation and rainwater collection. The transportation of earthwork must be carried out using enclosed vehicles, and automatic washing devices must be installed at the entrance and exit of the site. The washing water is recycled after sedimentation in the sedimentation tank.

Planting greenery in the office and living areas of the project department.

A new type of slotting machine (connected to a vacuum cleaner) is used for mechanical chiseling on the construction site, and the construction work surface is partially covered, concealed, or subjected to dust reduction measures such as water spraying. Place a dust shield in front of the grinding wheel cutting machine to collect dust and prevent it from spreading.

Waste outdoor rainwater pipes are used as garbage bins in the office and living areas, while plastic bins are placed in the cafeteria, drinking water area, and dishwashing area to store leftover food and liquid waste, and dedicated personnel are assigned to clear them.

Set up dust detection points on the roads and construction areas around the construction site, assign dedicated personnel to detect and record on site.


02Control of harmful gas emissions


Burning all kinds of waste is strictly prohibited on the construction site.

Arrange dedicated personnel for regular maintenance of construction machinery and equipment to ensure good operating conditions. The exhaust emissions of construction vehicles and mechanical equipment must comply with the national emission standards.


03Soil and Water Pollution Control


Dangerous goods such as paint, coatings, and chemical solvents stored on the construction site must be stored in dedicated warehouses, and the ground must be treated to prevent leakage. Waste oil and chemical solvents shall not be dumped at will, and a recycling contract shall be signed with a specialized recycling unit for recycling. The cafeteria is equipped with a three-level oil separation tank, which is covered with a cover plate and clearly marked. The cover plate is easy to open, please ask the environmental protection department to clean the oil separation tank regularly.

The sewage pipes in the canteen, bathroom, and shower room must be equipped with filter screens and connected to the municipal sewage pipeline.

Install oil trays under oil machinery equipment for recycling and reuse to prevent oil pollution on the ground.


04Noise pollution control


The construction area adopts sound absorption and insulation measures such as covering and sealing to control noise pollution from the noise source; Installing mufflers and other measures on construction machinery to control noise pollution; Carry out daily maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment.

When the noise sensitive area is within 50m of the site, noise testing points should be set every 40m along the site boundary. For assembly type R&D, noise testing points should be set every 60m along the site boundary. When the distance is greater than 100m, the point closest to the sensitive area on the site boundary line should be set as the noise testing point.

The measuring instrument should be a regular sound level meter or an equivalent sound level meter. The sound level meter is a mandatory testing instrument and must undergo periodic testing. The testing report shall be retained by the project department.


05Light pollution control


Reasonably arrange homework time and minimize nighttime construction as much as possible. LED energy-saving lamps can be selected at the construction site, which can ensure the illumination requirements of the site and reduce interference with surrounding residents.

When conducting welding operations at heights, fire-resistant canvas must be used to make a light blocking shed to prevent the leakage of arc light.

06Control of construction solid waste


List the main waste items based on the actual situation on site, including toxic and harmful substances such as paint and coatings, recyclable items such as waste newspapers and steel bars, and non recyclable items such as plastics.

All toxic and harmful substances must be stored separately in a sealed environment, entrusted to qualified units for recycling, and a written contract must be signed.

Steel bars and blocks are recycled by the manufacturer.

Solid waste transportation units must hold transportation permits and recycling qualifications, and do a good job of data preservation after signing contracts.


07Protection of facilities, cultural relics, and resources under ground mounted structures


After the commencement of construction, request relevant information on underground pipelines and facilities from the construction unit, and develop corresponding protective measures based on the actual situation on site to ensure the safe and normal operation of all pipelines, buildings, etc. around the project. At the same time, it is necessary to do a good job in protecting ancient trees and cultural relics in the construction site area and surrounding areas.
