BIM technology plays a crucial role in developing occupational health and safety (OHS) technical measures, planning implementation strategies, monitoring and dynamically managing ongoing processes, analyzing safety hazards, and handling accidents within OHS management.
In applying BIM to occupational health and safety management, safety management models can be built using detailed design models or prefabricated processing models. These models help establish OHS technical measures plans in accordance with occupational health management regulations. When batch operations or specific incidents occur, these plans can be activated to address safety concerns, manage hazards, and analyze accidents, as illustrated in the image below.

When developing a safety management model, it is important to base it on either a detailed design model or a prefabricated processing model to effectively meet the requirements of occupational health and safety management.
During the formulation of the occupational health and safety technical measures plan, safety management models should be utilized to assist relevant personnel in identifying potential risk sources.
While implementing the OHS technical measures plan, safety management models can facilitate safety technical disclosures to involved personnel. Additionally, these safety disclosure records should be linked or associated with specific model elements or combinations of elements within the model.
In addressing occupational health and safety hazards and accidents, safety management models are valuable for developing corrective actions. Rectification information should be attached or linked to the corresponding model elements or element combinations. Furthermore, when an accident occurs, investigation reports and handling decisions should be connected to the relevant model components.
For the analysis of occupational health and safety issues, safety management models enable the summarization and visualization of OHS information and problems based on factors such as location and time. This approach provides a solid foundation for the ongoing improvement of occupational health and safety management.
