Controlling Line Types and Widths of Model Objects in Revit
In Revit, you can manage the line type and line width of model objects independently by using the Object Style and Line Width functions.
1. Controlling Line Types via Object Styles:
Navigate to Manage > Object Styles from the ribbon. This opens the Object Styles dialog, where you can customize line types, line widths, colors, and patterns for model objects and annotations separately. It is important to note that the numerical values assigned to line widths here represent line width numbers rather than the actual physical line width. For example, if a beam’s projection line width is set to 3, it means it uses line width number 3, while the actual line width is determined in a different line width setting.
2. Controlling Line Widths:
Go to Manage > Other Settings > Line Weights to open the Line Weights dialog box. Here, Revit allows you to set line widths separately for model lines, projection lines, and annotation lines. Additionally, for higher line weight numbers, you can specify different widths depending on the view scale. These parameters can be adjusted, added, or removed according to your needs.
