How to Display a Plan Elevation View Within a Revit 3D Model

How to Display a Plan Elevation View in Revit 3D

Once you become familiar with Revit, you may find yourself preferring to do most of your modeling within 3D views. However, beginners often struggle with 3D modeling because they want to work on a specific surface that always faces their line of sight, essentially creating a front view. The benefit of modeling in a front view is that it provides a clearer and more accurate visual representation.

So, how can you make a particular face within a Revit 3D view appear as a front view to simplify your modeling process? Currently, the two best methods I know are:

  1. Orienting to a plane
  2. Setting the work plane and using the viewer
