How to Copy CAD Drawings into Word
When you insert a graphic from CAD directly into Word, it is usually not editable. So, how can we leverage the advantages of CAD and make the inserted graphic editable within Word at any time?
Here’s the method:
- Select the desired graphic in CAD.
- Press Ctrl + C to copy. If you see a message like “Clipboard contains XX,” it means the copy was successful.
- Open Word, then click on Paste. Instead of a regular paste, click the dropdown arrow and choose Paste Special.
- Set the image layout to “Floating above text”.
- Click on the graphic, right-click, and select Edit Image. Now you can edit the CAD drawing directly within Word.
