Settings for Pipeline Display Styles When Revit Pipes Intersect
When using Revit to draw pipes of different heights intersecting at the same location in a plan view, the pipes positioned below are typically displayed as hidden lines to clearly represent the height relationship between the pipes.
Follow these steps to adjust the display settings:
1. Click on the Management tab. Under the Set panel, select MEP Settings from the dropdown menu, then choose Mechanical Settings.
2. In the pop-up Mechanical Settings dialog box, on the left side select Hidden Line. On the right side, under Draw MEP Hidden Lines, you can control the display style of pipelines.
If the pipeline in the view is displayed in double-line mode, you can modify its appearance by adjusting the Line Style, Internal Gap, and External Gap settings.
For pipelines displayed in single-line mode, adjust the Single Line setting to change their display style accordingly.
Note that the Hidden Line option in Mechanical Settings specifically refers to MEP Hidden Lines, which differ from the hidden lines used in visual styles. MEP Hidden Lines are designed for MEP objects, allowing users to set unique display effects for hidden elements. They mainly apply to 2D views and are not applied to 3D views. In contrast, hidden lines in visual styles affect all objects in a view and can be set to either Hidden Line Style or Wireframe Style.
