Industrial Nature
In recent years, Chang’an Town in Haining has leveraged agricultural supply-side reform to achieve high-quality, efficient modern agriculture through scale and specialization. The flower industry, focusing on fresh cut flowers, potted plants, and home gardening, has become a key pillar for advancing high-quality agricultural development in Haining and sustaining farmers’ income growth.
Several flower industry projects have formed strategic partnerships with foreign-funded enterprises from the United States, Japan, and other countries. These collaborations focus on developing international flower industry parks to drive rural industrial revitalization.
During its industrial growth, Chang’an Town has successfully integrated beautiful countryside development, modern agriculture, and rural tourism. This integration transformed the flower industry from merely a production chain into a comprehensive industrial chain, earning it the distinction of the first beautiful countryside demonstration zone in Jiaxing City.
Venue Overview:

Pastoral Transformation
As part of the rural demonstration zone, the Haining Chang’an International Flower Industry Park builds upon its specialized industrial base and connects seamlessly with the International Flower City, separated from nearby nurseries only by a water channel. The site’s main land area is dedicated to large-scale planting and boasts a healthy ecological environment.
The Shangtang River flows along the northern edge of the site, while a branch river runs along the southern side, dividing the area into several peninsula-like clusters. The construction footprint is composed of existing homesteads arranged centrally along the river, reflecting the village’s rural industry and settlement layout.
This design allows the base to intertwine naturally with the environment, where industrial offices and research personnel work in a green, ecological setting, growing in harmony with nature.

Planning and Layout
Natural Trail:
Building on the site’s unique features, the design fosters a harmonious relationship between architecture and the surrounding rural environment. It integrates the nearby ecological green spaces and agricultural landscapes to create a park that blends naturally with its cultural and environmental context.
Appropriately scaled building clusters and street layouts, combined with low-rise skylines, establish a rural industrial experience zone along the riverbank with multi-level pedestrian routes. A rural trail connects the site, allowing visitors and staff to walk between nature and the interiors of the buildings. This seamless integration extends the landscape experience and encourages interaction with nature throughout the park.

Architectural Concept
The Haining International Flower Industry Park aims to establish an outstanding rural community centered on a modern planting industry and ecological system. This community promotes integration between industry and the environment, maximizing the quality and value of life.

Natural Interface
The architectural design draws inspiration from natural elements, creating an open, relaxed, and comfortable work environment. Vivid forms and bright colors foster creativity, concentration, and innovation, allowing buildings to blend seamlessly with nature.
The staggered layout offers excellent landscape views from every floor, providing occupants with a tranquil retreat away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Community Office
The roof terraces and corridor platforms between building clusters create a three-dimensional courtyard space. This design ensures easy access between functional areas while offering multi-level vertical spaces. Office staff can choose from various work settings, including dedicated work zones and collaborative areas, enhancing efficiency and fostering a courtyard-style community management approach.

Lighting Design Focus:

The lighting design emphasizes the building community’s relationships, creating engaging pedestrian pathways and activating nighttime activities within the community.

The lighting layout enhances architectural hierarchy and spatial composition. Through careful lighting arrangement, the buildings showcase new nighttime identities by emphasizing depth and material textures.

Lighting also plays a unique role in connecting pedestrian routes. The interplay of light and shadow along stairs, corridors, and facades enriches the experience, creating atmospheres ranging from peaceful to lively. This design encourages community participation in nighttime activities, promoting a vibrant social environment.

An Industrial Park as an Innovation Community
The flower industry park exemplifies a microcosm of innovation and industrial integration. It is a smart park that leverages ecological environments and a modern industrial system, balancing productivity with diverse community functions.
This people-centered, nature-symbiotic approach reflects a forward-looking model for industrial park development.
