Yuanjing Center is situated in the heart of Taizhou’s Central Business District, serving as a key architectural landmark along the central axis of the district. The site lies to the east of the city’s main avenue, west of Hehe Park, and borders a park to the north, offering a clear and inviting landscape orientation.
The center serves as the headquarters for two prominent companies: Fangyuan Group, a well-established construction firm in Taizhou, and Langcheng Group, an emerging real estate developer. These companies have distinct requirements for their office spaces—Fangyuan Group desires an office that exudes stability and dignity to reflect their corporate character, while Langcheng Group aims for an innovative office design that supports flexible leasing and sales options.
Balancing these differing needs while preserving the overall unity of the building posed a significant design challenge.

A Harmonious and Diverse Design
The architectural concept features a connected “twin tower” layout at the base: the East Tower faces the city, housing Fangyuan Group’s headquarters, while the West Tower overlooks the park and is home to Langcheng Group. This arrangement not only aligns with the north-south urban fabric but also clearly distinguishes the two companies’ identities.
Both towers share an “L”-shaped footprint of similar volume and facade curtain wall design, creating visual cohesion between these independent structures. The design carefully responds to the site context, corporate identities, and specific functional requirements, resulting in a precise spatial and formal composition.

The East Tower presents a clean and coherent urban facade, maximizing the integrity of the floor plan to provide ample usable space. Its southeast corner, adjacent to the lobby, features a spacious, orderly, and transparent atrium. This element reinforces the company’s stable image, enriches spatial experience, and offers an additional urban-facing showcase for the enterprise.

The West Tower, facing the garden, leverages the park’s high-quality landscape to meet Langcheng Group’s requirements for flexible office use. The “L”-shaped floor plan is subdivided into three independently usable spaces linked by an inward-facing atrium. This layout allows for flexible partitioning and combination, accommodating various functions and leasing needs.
This flexible design encourages spatial dynamism and results in a lively facade punctuated by numerous small aerial courtyards overlooking the park and city, providing a green, healthy work environment.

Inviting Nature into the City
The twin towers are connected at the base by an expansive shared podium that integrates the surrounding natural environment into the building experience.
The podium faces the park to the north, creating a walkable elevated space between the towers. This design fosters a direct interaction between the urban environment and the park, offering welcoming public space accessible to all city residents. Public and commercial functions such as reception and retail are located on this lower level, enhancing the site’s community engagement.

The podium opens outward toward the west and north parks in a clear and expressive form, with numerous landscaped balconies that provide direct contact with nature and enliven the facade rhythm.

With its holistic design philosophy and refined architectural craftsmanship, Gad has created Yuanjing Center as a benchmark project that meets the needs of both corporate tenants and urban development, injecting fresh vitality and momentum into the city’s architectural landscape.
