The SAMS (Medical Social Support Structure) welcomes senior physicians for short stays before they return home. This new facility is the second complex of the SILO Foundation, located in Échichens on the Morges hill in Switzerland. It offers additional amenities including a general practitioner’s office, a barber shop, and a tea room.

The design integrates the building seamlessly into its surroundings, which include nearby villages and the original SILO Foundation building. The new structure plays a key role in linking the existing buildings.

The building consists primarily of two blocks, each centered around a courtyard. This design respects the scale of the rural environment. The facade is constructed from prefabricated reinforced concrete elements.

This building is designed to be timeless. Beyond serving its functional purpose, it embodies a contemporary exploration of structural themes drawn from local heritage. Rather than evoking nostalgia, the design firmly grounds the project within a broader temporal context, surpassing its cultural roots.
