After only four months of construction, Stilt Studios proudly presents the completed wooden prototype Treehouse C in Ubud. Situated in Penestanan, a village just outside Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, this area has been renowned as an Artist Village since the 1930s. It’s a comfortable neighborhood with a high standard of living, surrounded by charming restaurants, bars, and lush rice fields, just a 15-minute walk from Ubud’s center. The treehouse is part of a small residential community called Bukit Sari.

Similar to our House A, the structural design of Treehouse C features a core made up of four vertical columns supported by a staircase. The ceiling and floor are suspended by strong steel cables extending from this core. This innovative approach minimizes the building’s cross-sectional area and reduces the number of structural components. It also enables the creation of unique suspended forms. The design includes flat surfaces with slim window frames and panels on slender exterior walls, which carry only their own weight, without bearing additional loads.

The layout of this house differs from Buduk’s Treehouse C released in October 2020. Instead of an open surrounding space and a corner terrace, this design divides the space into a kitchen combined with a living area, and a spacious bedroom with a relaxation zone, connected by a bathroom. The unit is 64 square meters and comfortably accommodates 2 to 4 people. On clear days, guests can enjoy views of the sunrise over Mount Agung, just beyond the rice fields.

The surrounding green space was designed and built by True Nature Nusantara, a Bali-based renewable landscape design consultancy specializing in sustainable agricultural principles to create edible landscapes. Bodhi Denton, their supervisor, explains, “The aim of this garden is to craft a dreamlike wilderness maze that requires low maintenance, featuring colorful perennial plants and trees, along with hidden seating areas that overlook the nearby rice fields.” The garden is filled with flowers, tropical ornamental plants, edible fruits, and herbs, and includes a small pond tucked in one corner.

Besides our Tetra Pod, we also offer architectural drawings for Treehouses A, B, and C for purchase. By following just three simple steps, you can obtain the blueprints and construction plans for your dream treehouse.
