The project is situated in Taman Villa Meruya, Indonesia, and represents a thoughtful blend of traditional and contemporary design elements.

The development features several components, including the Omah Library, a dental clinic, residential buildings, and the office of architect Realrich Sjarief.

The architectural firm, known as Guha Bambu or Realrich Architecture Workshop (RAW), leads the design.

The recent update focuses on integrating various spatial fragments to fulfill diverse functional needs across the site.

For instance, the architect expanded the Omah Library to include additional bookshelf storage and gallery display areas.

The architects carefully manage the spatial flow by creating distinct entrances, allowing clear differentiation between public and private areas.

Another newly added feature is the Guha Bambu Architectural Design Firm’s office, positioned on the eastern side of the site.

The architect drew inspiration from previous projects, designing the roof and bamboo framework integrated with a steel plane truss structure. The bamboo’s strength and flexibility support the entire steel structure.

Throughout the construction, nine different materials were utilized to highlight the project’s craftsmanship and the firm’s experimental approach. These materials include steel, wood, glass, metal, gypsum, bamboo, plastic, stone, and concrete.

The design approach embraces openness and flexibility, allowing ample room for future modifications.

Climate considerations played a key role, with the northwest side left open for ventilation, while the west side is enclosed by a facade.

The building’s facade features simple materials such as concrete, steel, and bamboo vertical louvers.

Through this project, the architect explores the integration of local Indonesian architecture with small-scale commercial concepts. There are plans to establish an open coffee shop in the future, fostering a clear balance between private and public spaces.

The entire project was constructed by skilled craftsmen from West Java Province. They combined traditional bamboo joinery techniques, such as fishmouth nodes, with modern steel construction methods.
