Vietnamese architectural studio Le House has transformed the exterior of the “Afternoon Rest Residence” by cladding it in perforated steel plates, turning the building into a glowing lantern against the night sky. This boutique hotel is nestled on a steep slope deep within a narrow alley of Da Lat City. Its crisp white facade creates a striking contrast with the surrounding environment.
The hotel comprises three floors plus an attic, designed with an interconnected layout that creates complex visual relationships between different spaces.

Le House enveloped the “nap house” in a uniquely designed layer of CNC-cut perforated steel plates. This exterior skin offers protection against the region’s rainy climate and high humidity. Positioned on a slope, the building interfaces with varying terrains on both sides, resulting in facades that are similar yet distinct, connected by glass and steel elements.
At night, the hotel’s interior lighting filters through the perforated steel facade, illuminating the structure like a giant lantern.

The hotel covers 790 square meters and features three floors plus a rooftop attic. It contains a total of nine rooms, including both public and private spaces. A large wooden staircase extends from the main hall, linking all floors and leading to the communal areas.
The public spaces include a kitchen, dining area, and workspace. The combination of steel, pine wood, pure white tones, and abundant greenery creates a peaceful atmosphere where travelers can relax and unwind.
