Wuhan Ganlu Mountain Snow World is a vast commercial complex centered around a lake, bringing together diverse entertainment, sports, retail, and other facilities. The large public terrace complements the three-dimensional pixel-themed façade, creating a striking architectural presence.

With the rise of national sports promotion, skiing has become one of the most popular outdoor activities among young people. China now leads the world in indoor ski resorts. The newly completed Wuhan Ganlu Mountain International Ski Resort not only offers leisure and entertainment options such as hotels, retail, and amusement parks but also features extensive ski schools, ski clubs, and large-scale event management. It stands as China’s first world-class entertainment complex themed around skiing.

Located in Huangpi District, Wuhan, next to Mulan Ancient Town, the 24-hour entertainment complex features a towering ski slope with a 500-meter length and significant vertical drop. This super-large commercial and entertainment hub encircles the central lake area, integrating various facilities for entertainment, sports, and retail. The building’s large public terrace and pixel-themed facade complement each other, establishing a new regional landmark. The complex seamlessly combines indoor skiing, outdoor theme parks, and commercial zones, creating a unique and comprehensive leisure destination.

The resort is designed as a 24-hour nonstop entertainment venue surrounding the lake. Its carnival atmosphere, connected indoor and outdoor commercial streets, water sports, and abstract mountain scenery blend into a grand-scale complex that offers an immersive experience.

The design integrates three distinct building types—sports, retail, and entertainment—each differing significantly in scale. These are unified through a complementary design language centered on three leisure experiences. Indoor skiing and outdoor carnival landscapes enhance each other, while indoor and outdoor retail spaces provide varied experiences. The indoor ski resort boasts a 500-meter-long slope with nearly 100 meters of vertical drop, catering to the snow entertainment needs of Wuhan, one of China’s largest cities. The modular façade system combines multiple elements, creating a new visual synergy through decomposition and reorganization.

The sports platforms and entertainment areas at the foot of the ski trails create an interactive indoor and outdoor living environment that extends to the waterfront. These spaces connect with public squares, commercial districts, and vast green landscapes through pixelated multimedia façades. The indoor space integrates fully with the outdoors, utilizing multiple first-floor commercial strategies to maximize the natural landscape. Internal and external commercial areas are activated with entertainment facilities and natural scenery, with direct connections to nearby transportation hubs.
