BIM Q&A | How to Draw Stairs in Revit
When designing stairs in Revit, there are three main concepts to consider: the Fandington stock, the steering wheel, and the punishment stem.
Once you set the top and bottom limits and offsets for your stairs, Revit can automatically calculate the appropriate step height. You can adjust the number of steps directly in the properties panel to fine-tune the stair design.
To create an outdoor staircase, first establish the corresponding contour family for the edge of the second-floor slab. Then, create a new floor slab edge by clicking on the floor slab boundary. Note that for this method, you will need to calculate the step height and width manually.
Additionally, Revit offers three built-in stair models that can be stretched and customized to suit your project needs.
