BIM Q&A | How to Slow Down 3D View Rotation Using Shift + Mouse Buttons in Revit

BIM Q&A | How to Fix Rapid Rotation When Using Shift + Left and Right Mouse Buttons in Revit’s 3D View

Initially, I couldn’t locate my model in Revit’s 3D view. Later, after revealing hidden elements and using coordinates, I found it—but the model appeared infinitely small. When I tried to adjust the view angle with the mouse wheel to zoom in, pressing Shift along with the left and right mouse buttons caused the model to disappear instantly. I’m desperate for a solution.

The issue occurs because Revit rotates the 3D view around the selected element. To fix this, click on a specific element in your model first, then rotate. Revit will pivot around that chosen element, preventing sudden disappearing or rapid rotation.
