What to Do If the Revit Annotation Tag Family Cannot Be Rotated
By default, annotation tag families in Revit are placed either horizontally or vertically. However, depending on the specific project requirements, you may need to orient the tag in the same direction as the component or at a different angle. How can you control this rotation?
Once an annotation tag family is placed, it cannot be rotated using the standard rotation command. To adjust its orientation, follow these steps:
1. Select the annotation tag family and locate the Direction property in the attribute bar. You can change this setting to either Horizontal or Vertical.
2. To align the tag with the component’s orientation, enter the annotation family editing environment. Then, click Family Category and Parameters, check the box labeled Rotate with Component in the dialog box, and click OK.
3. If the tag still does not align correctly, return to the family editing environment and manually rotate the label to the desired angle. After making this adjustment, reload the family into the project.
