What to Do If an Annotation Tag Family Created in Revit Fails to Display Properly in Your Project
The image below shows a tag family I created for labeling wire circuits, specifically a “Circuit Number” tag. Although it was loaded into the project, it failed to display the content correctly.
The creation process went smoothly, but the tag could not be marked because of an issue with the shared parameters. Initially, I created the shared parameter “Circuit Number”. Later, when converting it into project parameters and creating tag families, I mistakenly created new shared parameters instead of using the original ones. As a result, the tag did not recognize the parameters when loaded into the project.
To fix this, ensure that the shared parameters used in both the family and the project are consistent and reference the same file. If you create a new shared parameter file, you need to click Browse in the project to locate the path where the shared parameter file is saved. This allows the parameters in the family to display correctly within the project. Note that Revit only displays parameters from the most recently edited shared parameter file.
