How to Create Blocks in CAD
To begin, click on the Drawing tab, then expand the Block section and select the Create command to open the Block Definition dialog box.
Alternatively, you can use the shortcut keys B or BL to open the Block Definition dialog box directly. Enter a name for your block, for example: 01.
Next, click the Pick Point button to select the base point of the block. Return to the Define Block dialog, click Select Objects, then use your mouse to select the objects you want to include in the block. Press Enter to confirm your selection.
Back in the Block Definition dialog box, click OK to create the block.
If the block name you entered already exists, you will be prompted to choose a different name. Please rename accordingly.
Note: Blocks created this way are only available within the current drawing. Once you close the file and start a new one, these blocks cannot be inserted. To save blocks for use across drawings, create external blocks (also known as write blocks) using the shortcut key W (wblock). The process is similar to creating internal blocks, but you will need to specify the file name and save location.
