The Ocean Park Marriott Hotel, located in Hong Kong’s Southern District, marks a significant milestone for the city. It offers convenient accommodation for tourists while establishing itself as a key attraction and an international-standard resort in Hong Kong.

▲ Project and Surrounding Overview

A hotel composed of three L-shaped towers

▲ Hotel Entrance Facade
Situated at the entrance of Ocean Park, the hotel is designed to harmonize with the complex terrain and surrounding environment. Three L-shaped towers enclose a serene, private oasis featuring a landscaped garden and a tranquil swimming pool.

▲ Underground podium featuring a 16-meter-high aquarium tank

▲ Banquet Front Desk
The hotel houses 471 guest rooms spread across three towers, all connected by a multi-level underground podium. This podium includes a multifunctional banquet hall, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can access the hotel front desk directly from the subway exit via a pedestrian overpass or arrive by car through the underground parking garage. A striking 16-meter-high aquarium links the underground podium to the first-floor front desk. Each tower features a first-floor restaurant where guests can dine outdoors surrounded by lush greenery.

▲ Dynamic, wave-like woven louver facade
Between the hotel’s structural columns, wave-inspired woven louvers create a dynamic and visually stunning facade. This design not only enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal but also blocks direct sunlight, improving energy efficiency without obstructing scenic views from the guest rooms. Integrated planters within the louver system allow greenery to flourish, seamlessly blending the facade with nature.

▲ Grid canopy surrounding the internal facade and swimming pool
The interior courtyard’s facade continues the wave-like woven louver motif, connecting the three towers to create a cohesive visual identity. At the lower level, the louvers extend outward, forming a grid canopy around the central swimming pool and public spaces. This canopy provides shade for both the hotel’s lower floors and outdoor visitors. The two large, irregularly shaped outdoor pools lie at the heart of the hotel, surrounded by verdant landscaping that offers guests a relaxing retreat. The courtyard and pools are sunken to ensure ample sunlight reaches the lower floors and banquet halls. Additionally, the L-shaped towers feature rounded corners, providing guests with panoramic views of Ocean Park.

▲ Grid canopy providing shaded outdoor activity spaces
The rooftop spaces have been thoughtfully utilized to create several planted warm rooms, serving as an exclusive herb and vegetable garden for the hotel’s restaurants. The vertical facades at the ends of the L-shaped towers are dedicated green spaces. Above the open area between the towers, a wave-inspired grid canopy offers a unique outdoor environment ideal for weddings and special events. The artistic and interior design of the guest rooms and public areas strongly emphasize the connection between the hotel and the surrounding ocean.
