Processing Steel Structure Node Connections in Revit
Creating steel structure nodes in software versions earlier than Revit 2017 can be quite challenging. However, starting with Revit 2017, the Structural Connections for Revit plugin is available, making the construction of steel structure nodes straightforward and efficient. This plugin includes various connection types such as beam splicing, column-to-beam connections, standard support nodes, plate-on-beam, pipe connections, and more. Below is a brief guide on how to work with steel beam nodes using this tool.
1. First, create two steel beams to be connected. Then, navigate to the Structure tab and select Connections. In the connection settings panel, add the desired connection type, and click OK, as illustrated in the image.
2. Next, click Connect. From the property browser, choose the connection type, select the steel beam you want to connect, and click Connect again, as shown in the figure.
3. Finally, select the connection node and adjust its parameters according to the project requirements, as demonstrated in the image.
