Setting the Startup View in Revit
Revit offers different display modes when opening a project to accommodate various delivery scenarios. For instance, when presenting to owners who are unfamiliar with software operations, it’s often best to set the startup view to a 3D model for easy navigation without switching views. Alternatively, during meetings, you might want to set the launch view to a specific project title or introduction page. Below, we’ll guide you through the process of setting the startup view in Revit.
1. Navigate to the Manage tab and click the Start View command located in the Manage Items panel, as illustrated below.
2. A Startup View dialog box will appear. The dropdown menu displays the current startup settings, typically showing your most recently viewed views.
3. Choose the desired startup view from the list, then click OK to confirm your selection.
4. Once set, the chosen view will open by default when the project is launched, as shown in the screenshot.
Why is this important? When presenting a project to clients or owners, having an attractive and relevant startup interface enhances the overall experience. You can select any view to serve as the project’s launch view, and even add renderings or textual information within that view to create a polished presentation page, making your project more engaging.
