Located at the intersection of Yueqing Avenue and Xinyue Road in Yubei District, Chongqing, this community center initially serves as a temporary sales center.

▲ General layout plan
To accommodate both pre-exhibition and post-event activities, the design incorporates large-span cantilevered truss structures, creating a column-free area exceeding 1,000 square meters. This open space serves as a public urban living room for the surrounding community residents. The flowing structural form harmonizes with the formal logic of circulation areas such as staircases and generates dynamic rooftop platforms.

▲ Axial measurement analysis

The design expresses the unique spatial identity through its structure, extending Mies van der Rohe’s concepts of “universal space” and “fluid space”. The metal stretch mesh enclosing the building offers privacy inside by blocking direct glare at certain angles while allowing parallel light to pass through, maintaining transparency. The structural elements are softened behind the mesh, creating a seamless connection between interior and exterior.
