Revit Quick Modeling: Automatically Generate Piles by Importing Layers from Linked CAD Files

Drawing Pile

You can quickly generate piles by reading layer graphics from the linked CAD file. On the Baoye Rapid Construction tab, go to the “Building Structure” section and select the Link Drawing icon. In the pop-up window, choose the linked file to establish the connection. Next, still under the Baoye Rapid Construction tab in the “Building Structure” area, click the Drawing Pile icon.Revit Quick Modeling | CAD reads layer elements from linked CAD files to quickly generate piles

Then, select the model object in the drawing area. A dialog box will appear, prompting you to specify the baseline, annotation, leader, and other layers needed to create the pile, as shown below.Revit Quick Modeling | CAD reads layer elements from linked CAD files to quickly generate piles

Within the dialog box, click the Pick Layer button. Return to the drawing area to select the baseline and annotation layers for the pile, then click Next.

Notes:

To ensure a high recognition success rate, the linked drawings must have the baseline on a separate layer and not embedded within CAD blocks. This prevents issues with recognizing baseline data.

The pile size on the drawing determines the actual size of the created pile. If you prefer to define the pile size using annotations, please refer to the Annotated Pile function introduction.
