You can quickly generate beams by reading layer elements from linked CAD files.
First, link the CAD files in your Revit project and save the project. (Refer to the preparation steps required for column production on the drawing.)
Next, open the “Baoye Rapid Construction” tab, then select and click the “Drawing Beam” icon located in the “Building Structure” section.

After that, select the model object within the drawing area. The “isBIM Quick Model – Drawing Beam” dialog box will appear, as shown below.

In the dialog box, select the layer where the beam needs to be created. Click the “Next” button to proceed with the beam creation process.

The Create Parameters dialog box allows you to click “Output Table” to export the currently recognized graphic elements as an Excel file.

Click the “Configure Template” and “Configure” buttons to set the creation parameters. When finished, press “OK” to start the beam modeling.
The plugin identifies two parallel lines in the layer to draw the beam. The beam’s width is determined by the distance between these two lines, while its height is defined by the aspect ratio set in the “Configuration” section.
By clicking the “Configuration” button, you can access the “Drawing Flip Configuration” dialog box, where you can adjust the beam aspect ratio and other recognition constraints.
Notes:
- The linked drawings must have the beam baseline on a separate layer. The baseline should not be embedded inside CAD blocks to ensure it can be properly recognized.
- The plugin draws the beam by detecting two parallel lines in the layer. The beam’s width depends on the distance between these lines, and its height is controlled by the aspect ratio set under “Configuration”.
