Transferring Project Standards in Revit: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Transfer Project Standards in Revit

Project standards in Revit include system family types (excluding loadable families), line weights, materials, view templates, object styles, mechanical and electrical settings, standard styles, color fill schemes, fill patterns, and plot settings.

So, how can you transfer these project standards from one project file to another?

Follow these steps:

  1. Open both project files simultaneously.
  2. In the project file where you want to copy the standards, go to the Manage tab in the ribbon.
  3. Click on the Transfer Project Standards command.
  4. In the dialog box, select the project file you want to copy from.
  5. Check the specific project standards you wish to transfer.

Note: The Copy From option copies the standards from the selected project file into the current project file. It does not transfer standards from the current project file to another. Be careful not to confuse Copy From with Copy To.

Finally, click OK to complete the transfer of project standards to your current project file.
