Yanqing District, situated 75 kilometers northwest of Beijing’s city center, is renowned for the iconic Badaling Great Wall and its scenic mountainous landscape. With a rich history and abundant natural resources, Yanqing is a notable location that hosted the 2019 World Horticultural Expo and served as the main venue for the 2022 Winter Olympics, attracting visitors from around the globe.
The overall design of Hyatt Beijing Shiyuan draws inspiration from nature, crafting a serene and green living environment that incorporates elements such as mountains, rivers, lakes, birds, and flowers to enhance the guest experience.

Lobby
The hotel lobby is designed to reflect the Badaling Great Wall and the surrounding mountain ranges. The walls flanking the lobby and the themed backdrop behind the reception desk mimic mountain shapes, featuring flowing and continuous forms that extend the outdoor mountainous scenery indoors. Warm wood tones and soft lighting create a cozy atmosphere, inviting guests into a rich vacation experience.
Incorporating modern design techniques, the space features a three-level structure aligned with the building’s upward ridge, accentuated by light strips that add height and grandeur. The flooring combines glossy and matte beige marble finishes, emphasizing detail and cohesion. Mountain-themed artwork, including large hanging curved metal filaments, interlock and flow freely, harmonizing with the natural mottled stone floor and its reflective lighting to evoke a natural ambiance.

Lobby Bar
The sloping roof extends downwards from the lobby, creating a cozy space for relaxation and socializing. The floor combines warm wooden flooring with carpet symbolizing grasslands. Spacious and comfortable seating arrangements accommodate guests of various group sizes. Design elements such as floor lamps and magazine racks draw inspiration from skis and wooden racks, while the full-height wooden bookshelves in the reading room are adorned with books and accessories related to ice and snow sports. A chandelier resembling sparkling snowflakes hangs above the reading table, symbolizing the connection between the World Horticultural Expo and the Winter Olympics, while highlighting Yanqing’s year-round scenic beauty.

Staircase: The only open staircase connecting the conference and banquet areas, the staircase is both a crucial transportation hub and an artistic centerpiece. Crafted from solid wood, it conveys a sense of lightness and agility with its winding, interwoven design.

All-Day Dining: Designed as an indoor garden, this area reflects Yanqing’s identity as the hometown of flowers throughout all four seasons, inspired by the World Horticultural Exposition. The entrance features a rustic solid wood trunk float and a guiding platform, contrasting beautifully with a pristine white marble base. A vibrant flower wall with a large colorful mosaic immediately sets the thematic tone.
The patterned glass partitions resemble floral windows, framed with black metal edges and doors that trace the winding paths of a garden. Vine trellises and lush greenery extend throughout the open dining space, enhancing the floral theme. Off-white marble and light wood elements, bright furnishings, and lively accents create a fresh and warm atmosphere, making guests feel as if they are immersed in a sea of flowers and the perpetual warmth of spring.

Chinese Cuisine Area: Themed “Birds Chirping and Flowers Blooming,” this space creates a warm and lively northern village ambiance. The entrance wall is crafted from traditional gray tiles, leading into a front hall dominated by a massive tree root platform and a floral wall teeming with colorful leaves and flowers, blending strength and grace.
The marble floor features mosaic patterns of flowers and birds, reminiscent of classic paintings, forming a welcoming courtyard. The open dining area showcases a wooden lattice ceiling, ink-painted floral and bird decorations on the walls, geometrically arranged wooden floors, soft yellow carpets, antique light fixtures, and walls lined with antique teapot collections, inviting guests to explore diverse dining experiences.

Chinese VIP Lounge: Two VIP lounges offer distinct ambiances. One features a vibrant and rich design with a traditional Chinese roof truss, dark wooden floors, lacquer paintings with bright red backgrounds, cranes, ancient pine trees, and red lanterns, creating a rustic yet lively atmosphere. The other presents a more delicate and elegant setting with a marble leaf-patterned floor, light green wooden wall accents, and a main wall painted in goose yellow, evoking the freshness of spring. Luxurious details in carpet, upholstery, and glass elements emphasize comfort and variety, making guests feel truly at home.

Guest Rooms – Return to Nature
Yanqing offers stunning scenery across all four seasons and abundant natural resources. The guest rooms are designed to immerse visitors in a “return to nature” experience.
The carpet patterns in the corridors are inspired by the Kangxi grassland, evoking the feeling of walking on lush green fields. Bird-shaped lights at the entrance appear to welcome guests warmly.

The rooms primarily feature beige and earthy coffee tones, complemented by deep and light greens. Wood-colored floors, walls, cabinets, and furniture create a warm and inviting ambiance. Outdoor lighting fixtures with rope weaving or wooden frames add charm and character.
Drawing from the 2019 World Horticultural Exposition, nine local rare flowers and plants are depicted on the feature walls in nearly 300 guest rooms.
The open walk-in closet and wardrobe enhance the room’s spaciousness and atmosphere. Glass partitions between the bathroom and bedroom maximize transparency, while the washbasin’s design, resembling traditional Chinese movable furniture with wooden diagonal supports and concealed lighting, adds lightness and elegance.
