How to Create Door and Window Samples in Revit
At a certain stage in the modeling process, construction drawings become necessary. When preparing these drawings, detailed representations of doors and windows are essential. Fortunately, you don’t need to redraw these details in Revit; instead, you can use existing models to generate detailed views efficiently. So, how can you quickly create door and window samples?
First, go to the View tab and select Legend. Name the legend according to your drawing and scale requirements, then click OK to proceed, as shown below.
Next, locate the door or window family you want to use in the Project Browser. In the Modify panel, you can adjust the family type and view direction. Simply click and drag the family into the legend view using the left mouse button, as illustrated.
Then, navigate to the Annotation tab, choose Components, followed by Legend Components, to place the plan views of the doors and windows into the legend. Refer to the figure for guidance.
