Changing Project Units in Revit: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Modify Project Units in Revit

First, select the functional area and navigate to Manage > Project Units. The Project Units dialog box will appear, as shown in the image.

Click on the format bar to customize the display format for measurements such as length, area, and volume. For example, select the format option corresponding to Length. In the dialog box, you can adjust the unit type, unit symbol, and number of decimal places, as illustrated below.

The settings are organized into separate tabs based on different standards. Units like pipe sizes must be configured under their respective standard tabs. Note that if the Unit symbol for length is set to mm, and the annotation family is set to By Project Settings, the suffix mm will appear in the annotation. If you prefer not to display this suffix, it is recommended to set the unit symbol to None.
