This new park project is located on Ningsheng Road near Guangzhong West Road in Jing’an District, the heart of Shanghai. It borders Lingshi Park, the largest park in central Shanghai, to the south. COLORFULL Yujing Design spent three years customizing this project for Philips, covering a total park building area of 170,000 square meters.

The design draws inspiration from Philips Greater China headquarters, a Fortune 500 company, embodying the corporate culture of “innovation makes life better.” This aligns perfectly with COLORFULL Yujing Design’s philosophy of “innovative life.”

The architectural style is modern and minimalist. The east and west facades feature relaxed, clean straight lines that emphasize openness, simplicity, and a calm atmosphere. Large, transparent French windows flood the interiors with natural light, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding scenery.

The design’s beauty is not limited to its striking appearance; it also prioritizes environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. The facade achieves energy savings without relying on high-tech solutions, using thoughtful design to enhance efficiency and reduce consumption.
Inside, the building features large modular spaces that allow for flexible office layouts. Each floor can be subdivided into areas of varying sizes, easily adaptable for future renovations to meet Philips’ evolving needs. This flexibility fosters a collaborative environment where employees can freely communicate and enjoy their workspace.

The north-south facade incorporates a grid design that provides passive shading during the day, significantly improving energy efficiency. The vertical grid spacing is 8.4 meters, and horizontal spacing is 4.2 meters, harmonizing with the building’s column grid and floor height. This grid is recessed to create small balconies, offering comfortable outdoor rest spaces. It optimizes lighting and outdoor views while minimizing heat absorption, achieving over 90% energy savings.

Serving as a key BIM architectural feature in the public area, the commercial district is designed to enhance three-dimensional spatial variety and cater to outdoor space needs on every floor. It offers abundant semi-outdoor areas and terrace gardens, while the courtyard landscape enclosed by the building complements the terrace gardens, creating a unique and inviting shared open space.

The park includes various amenities such as banks, cafes, gyms, and food courts. It offers over 1,200 parking spaces, with 90% located underground. To create a natural and eco-friendly working environment, the green space in Philips’ new park exceeds 15,000 square meters.
