In 2019, DUTS Design was tasked by Daosheng Tianhe Materials Technology to develop a headquarters office park in Lingang, Shanghai. After three years of comprehensive construction, interior design, and landscaping, the park was completed and became operational in 2022.
The new Daosheng Tianhe Shanghai Lingang headquarters features a human-centered office environment, a state-of-the-art modern factory, a research and development center equipped with world-class facilities, and advanced production lines. DUTS Design innovatively incorporated cultural experiences into the industrial buildings and office spaces, crafting a composite headquarters office park that offers a “museum-like experience.”

The design of this ultra-modern, world-class headquarters office park reflects the company’s logo and visual identity, fully expressing its unique image and personality. It serves as the company’s business card and an integral part of its corporate culture.
Daosheng Tianhe Materials Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of high-performance thermosetting resin materials. Their technical team brings over 20 years of experience in products such as epoxy resin, polyurethane, acrylic acid, and organosilicon, supporting industries including composites, automotive, photovoltaics, and power sectors.
Located in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone, the new headquarters park enjoys strategic proximity to Yangshan International Hub Port to the east and Pudong International Airport to the north, making it a key node in Shanghai’s coastal corridor.
The project spans 32,613 square meters, with a total construction area of 25,802 square meters. DUTS Design’s vision was to create not just an industrial park but an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and sustainable green home. This smart park seamlessly integrates intelligent offices, digital production, advanced laboratories, and forward-looking design with flexible functionality.

The architectural and functional design integrates cultural experiences into the industrial buildings, unifying the entire park’s layout and planning. It combines various functions including headquarters office, research and development center, production center, leisure, and exhibition spaces.
The human-centric office environment and functional layout comprehensively address the needs of both the company and its employees. Many areas are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing for future re-planning and functional adjustments based on the company’s growth.
Daosheng Tianhe is committed to social responsibility and humanistic care. They aim to foster an open, ecological workspace that encourages communication and innovation. To achieve this, the design incorporates the concept of “grey space” from public cultural buildings, creating a “museum-style experience” within the industrial structures.
As Zhong Ling, founder and architect of Duze Design, notes, this approach enriches the industrial park by blending cultural elements into functional spaces.

A 2,000-square-meter reflecting pool extends gently beneath the 40-meter cantilevered structure. The entrance is simplified to a T-shaped walkway that appears to float on the water’s surface. The water acts like a mirror, reflecting the sky above the central entrance and guiding visitors with a sense of calm and comfort, reminiscent of a public cultural “grey space.”
The fluidity of the water enhances the architectural impact, while the adjacent sky garden layout promotes easy circulation and encourages employee interaction. Together, these design elements create a world-class, modern industrial park that harmoniously blends space and environment.

The integrated approach to architecture, interior, and landscape design delivers a unique spatial experience. As industrialization evolves into digitization, factories are no longer solely production sites but combine contemporary design aesthetics with modern living.
The headquarters building adapts to evolving work styles and serves as a platform to showcase the company’s image, products, and services. It is a multifunctional space where employees work, live, and socialize, reflecting the enterprise’s values and sense of responsibility.
DUTS Design uses an integrated architectural and interior design strategy to highlight architectural features while enhancing interior functionality. The cantilevered structure creates natural interior drops, facilitating an open office space and a tiered auditorium for the headquarters.
The orderly interior layout fosters a more open, diverse, and collaborative headquarters office environment.

The design maximizes natural light to create an ecological, garden-like office atmosphere. Industrial gray materials dominate the interior, echoing the space’s overall tone and reflecting Daosheng Tianhe’s philosophy of deriving simple, stable solutions from complex natural laws.
Between the first and second floors, warm wood tones create a bright, welcoming environment that enhances the human-centered office experience.

The designers aimed to evoke a sense of “working in nature” for employees. The two-story transparent glass curtain walls enable a 360-degree garden view, while the atrium garden enhances the microclimate through cross ventilation and natural light.
The office design language is modern and minimalist, with the lush atrium garden serving as a vibrant focal point. Whether entering the garden from the first floor, taking a break surrounded by nature, or viewing it from the second floor, the dynamic garden changes with the seasons and permeates the building’s spaces.
This design invites users not only to appreciate the scenery but to become part of it. Natural viewfinder windows created by large mirrors introduce light and seasonal changes indoors. The use of simple wood tones throughout the space echoes and harmonizes with the natural landscape.
The overall spatial design avoids excessive decoration, embracing natural simplicity in line with the company’s green and environmentally conscious vision.

Exceptional engineering management ensures attention to every detail throughout the project. DUTS Design provides refined project management services, believing that successful outcomes stem from collaboration between clients and designers.
The architectural experience arises from a cohesive whole — from structural framework to spatial surfaces, satisfying both functional requirements and sensory details.
Every aspect, including structure, space, layout, materials, and lighting, is meticulously controlled to create a work that resonates with the company’s core values and its users.
The new Daosheng Tianhe ultra-modern headquarters park, with its innovative architecture, integrated industrial culture, world-class R&D labs, and sustainable production lines, stands as a landmark in the domestic and global high-tech materials industry.
