The Hangzhou Alibaba Damo Institute Nanhu Park, designed by Aedas Global Design Director Wei Yeqi along with Executive Directors Li Wei and Shen Feili, was honored with the 2022 MIPIM Award for Best Future Large-Scale Construction Project. This prestigious award recognizes innovative design and represents a significant achievement in forward-thinking architecture that supports sustainable development for tomorrow’s society.

The project spans approximately 228,100 square meters and is situated in the heart of the West Hangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, specifically at the Nanhu Science Center in Yuhang District.

Serving as Alibaba Damo Academy’s future office park, the design integrates advanced intelligent office spaces, research laboratories, visitor centers, exhibition areas, and essential support facilities. Inspired by the form of leaves and their vein structures, the layout creates a landscape and axis system that resembles a floating Bodhi leaf on the surface of Nanhu Lake. This distinctive design offers a vibrant, floating leaf scene by the water, establishing a graceful and iconic urban landmark for Hangzhou.

Upon completion, this site will function as one of Alibaba’s headquarters and a key hub for driving global innovation and technological advancement. Established in 1991, the MIPIM Awards are internationally renowned within the real estate sector and celebrate outstanding individuals and projects, both completed and in progress, that set benchmarks in the global property market.
