Understanding the Link Between Bathroom Fixtures and Pipelines in Revit MEP

Connecting Bathroom Fixtures to Pipelines in Revit MEP

How do you connect installed bathroom fixtures to existing pipes in Revit MEP? In this guide, we will walk you through the process of linking bathroom fixtures with pipelines.

Start by opening the software and selecting the Pipeline Sample template file. Then, create a new project as illustrated below.

Next, place the bathroom fixtures and pipes according to the example shown.

Click on a bathroom fixture to inspect it closely. Below the fixture, a symbol will appear. Hover your mouse over this symbol to see the prompt Create pipeline, as demonstrated in the image below.

Note that the pipeline from the bathroom fixture must be drawn vertically downward; otherwise, it cannot be generated. This restriction is shown in the following figure.

Proceed to create and connect the pipelines. Use the Trim command to join the pipes smoothly, as shown in the next illustration.

By following these steps, your bathroom fixtures will be properly connected to the existing pipelines.
